Welcome to Hidden Ink
This blog is a bit of a labour of love and something I've been thinking about for a while.
So in 1997 I got my second tattoo, a small lizard on my foot. I decided one day I wanted to get another tattoo and rather than thinking long and hard and spending ages designing something I would love forever, I strolled into the nearest Tattoo parlour, sketched a lizard on a scrap of paper and within 15 mins it was inked on me forever.
I quite liked it for a while but over the years I have grown to hate it. It's dark, blobby and basically a crap design. I don't regret it. I did it, it's a story but I'd rather something more beautiful was in its place.
I love tattoo's, well I love good tattoo's and thats why I'd love to have it covered up. The problem being there's a million amazing designs, but I would have no idea how it would sit on my foot or how it would cover the tattoo.
This is where the idea of Hidden Ink came from. There is a world of amazing artists and designers out there and a world of people like me with tattoo's they'd like to improve. The idea is simple. You submit a photograph of your tattoo, we upload it and artists can then download the image, sketch on top of the image and re-submit.
